What we do

The Zahlé School Aid Committee (Comité Aide Scolaire de Zahlé) was established in 2020 as a nonprofit organization to support in maintaining the level of education that the Lebanese have always cherished, and thus contribute to the achievement of the sustainable development goals, in particular the fourth objective of "ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all” (United Nations).

Registered on 9 December 2020 (# 1546) at the Lebanese Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, the Zahlé School Aid Committee succeeded in 2020 in securing school aids to 738 students in 14 private schools in Zahlé, with donations amounting to 1 billion LBP.

In 2021, and thanks to the increased generosity of donors, and particularly ALAM (Association Liban Avenir Meilleur), support was provided to ~ 3,125 students in 26 private establishment in Zahle, Akkar, as well as the South (Saida, Jezzine and Marjeyoun) with a budget of ~ 6 billion LBP.

In 2022, (for the 2022-2023 school year), school aid covered 5,655 students at 40 schools (19 in Zahleh and the Bekaa, 11 in the North and 10 in the South), along with a small gesture to teachers and administrators and solar system installation/maintenance at selected establishments with a total budget of 762,500 USD.
